Albert Einstein once said, “Adversity introduces a man to himself.” (And I’m pretty sure it includes women, too.) What a powerful truth – because when life turns up the pressure, it reveals who we really are. Which version of you shows up when in the middle of busy season? The discouraged, cynical one? Or the strong, grounded professional who rises to meet the challenge with grace and composure?

If you look around, you’ll notice something: true professionals view adversity as an opportunity, a chance to show their steadiness through encouragement, patience, and humor. On the other hand, struggling professionals react with frustration or negativity, and that attitude can spread quickly.

Both cynicism and positivity are contagious. So when adversity comes – and it always does – let it bring out your best self. A calm, uplifting presence can shift the tone for everyone around you. Choose wisely, and be the kind of “germ” people are grateful to catch.
