Susan’s Message last week hit the mark: catching yourself when you start to fade – before you crash – is critical if you want to avoid mistakes and poor decisions.

But here’s the real question: when do you plan for that moment?

It’s a mistake to assume that once you reach your breaking point, you’ll figure out what to do. At that stage, you’re already under heavy mental and emotional strain. Are you really going to make a good decision in that state? Unlikely. More often, you’ll default to easy, unhelpful habits – snacking mindlessly, scrolling, or checking out.

A better approach is to plan your recovery in advance. Decide ahead of time what you’ll do
when you hit the wall so that, in the moment, you don’t have to think, choose or decide – you
just execute.

Everyone’s reset looks different. The key is to identify what works for you and build it into your
day before you need it.

So ask yourself: when the crash comes, what’s the plan?
