Is that what you think about when you first awoke this morning? If not, why not? It’s all true, but if you aren’t careful, you could forget all that good stuff and be seduced into a Monday malaise. The impact it has on yourself and others is dramatic. If you don’t calibrate your perspective from the very beginning, your attitude will begin to stink. You and those counting on you will suffer.
To begin this Monday differently, choose to be an energy source, not an energy drain. Take control of the work before you. Be the one to step up. This means you are not going to wait until something good happens to give you a boost. You are going to get ahead of your day, become an energy source and engage your challenges with energy and optimism.
Being an energy source is a choice. The best time to make that choice is right when you awake. Simply say, Today, I’m an energy source that makes things happen. I love what I do. It’s simple. So much so that it’s often poo-pooed. But when you make a statement like this, what you’re really doing is directing your brain and all its creative energy to view things in an optimistic, can-do way. You choose your perspective that determines your attitude.
On this Monday, be an energy source to power up and power through what the day has for you. This is your day; your week. Make it a GREAT one.
