What Matters
While most of my readers are preparing for or have already entered their fall busy season, we at PartnersCoach® are busy doing the same by updating the materials for the fall training season. This is a perfect time for you and us to remind ourselves of why we do what we do. For most professionals, our work is much more than a paycheck. There are other factors that are more important.
For instance, At PartnersCoach®, our fundamental beliefs that motivate and drive us are immensely important. See if these are your beliefs too.
Our Beliefs
First, we believe that we are all on a journey to find our place in the world. We want to belong to something where we can make a positive impact by making significant contributions that matter. The most meaningful “contributions” we make require our passions, energy, and skill so that we not only contribute to the good of others, but that we also experience a deep sense of internal satisfaction as well.
Your Beliefs?
Are these your beliefs too? Regardless, your beliefs are important and you have to consciously remind yourself WHY you do what you do—that it’s more than a job. If you forget, you can easily be overcome with the stress, frustration and overwhelm that you experience. A paycheck isn’t sufficient to rise above the adversities that come from the job itself. However, if you have a passion for your work and for those whom you serve, you will find the motivational reserves to power through all the difficulties.
When you look at the work in front of you, the colleagues you work with and the clients you serve, and you remember that your contributions matter to them, and that you enjoy making them because you love what you do, it all comes together—win, win, win.
So, when you begin to feel frazzled and tattered around the edges, maybe it’s time to pause and remember your beliefs: that you are a satisfied professional making contributions that positively impact others.
Nice.
