For some, this may be a slower season with lingering projects. Others might see this time as a leadership development season, focusing on CPE, personal growth, and professional skill- building. Or perhaps this is your moment to transition back to your reduced work hours. Regardless of your role or specialty, it’s likely you’re experiencing some kind of seasonal shift.
Here in Iowa, spring is upon us, bringing its unpredictable charm. One day, it’s 70 degrees and sunny; the next, it’s 32 with wind and clouds. Yet, despite the fluctuations, the grass grows greener, spring blooms emerge, and life finds its way back into the world. Nature itself serves as a reminder that seasonal shifts bring opportunities for renewal and growth.
First and foremost, if you’ve just emerged from a demanding tax season, take time to rest—this is vital for future success. Afterward, resist the urge to dive straight back in without reflection. Instead, pause and consider what this season should look like for you. Here are some guiding questions to help shape your plan:
- What are my ideal work hours per day or week?
- What time will I start and end each day?
- What are my top priorities right now?
- How do I want to allocate my time across client work, personal and professional
development, networking, and team-building?
Once you’ve clarified your priorities, begin crafting a daily or weekly schedule that aligns with your vision. The goal isn’t perfection but intentionality.
By embracing this seasonal mindset, you can navigate change with greater purpose and set yourself up for continued success—personally and professionally.
